for 2 years? maybe she hasn't undergo any treatment for that. Chlamydia is really dangerous if it stays long in your body. It can even lead to Trachoma as its complication if not treated

I would imagine that the infection could be there indefinately. In order to get rid of it, the woman HAS to be treated with a strong anti-biotic. I have had this particular STD and it was about 6 months before I received help. By then, it was affecting my skin. They say If it's not treated quickly that it can leave a woman sterile. Well, I didn't have any other children after that STD. I was 28-years-old and wasn't really trying to have more children; but I also wasn't taking the precautions aganist it either. I would imagine that if this woman had clamydia for 2 whole years w/o treatment....she's probably going to be sterile by now; and there could be scaring....and other consequences for having gone so long w/o help.

I have treated people that recurrent infections because the symptoms were confused with something else.
Its very possible. The problem with that is that there is a big risk for complications if not treated promptly, like decreased fertility.
Chlamydia is caused by a bacteria. It will not go away on its own. It needs a course of specific antibiotics. Just any antibiotic wont kill it.
Hope that helps.
