How do I soothe a genital herpe outbreak?

How do I soothe a genital herpe outbreak?I read about Aveeno oatmeal bath. Has anyone tried it? Other home remedies are welcome that you have tried and it worked.

You could try that. You might also try applying tea tree oil diluted with water on the sores. I find it soothing. Since I've been on an anti-viral med, I haven't had an outbreak in a year. You might consider this route, if you aren't already taking a med for it.

There arent too many ways to ease the pain of an outbreak. The best thing to do is keep things clean and dry. My sister takes alot of baths during her breakouts and when she gets out she uses a blow dryer down there to dry things out and she swears it makes her lesions go away faster too.

Mix 2 tablespoons of salt in 1 cup of white or apple cider vinegar. Mix well and wait 10 minutes (be sure to wait or it will sting a little bit). Pour the mixture on the affected area and this should sooth your outbreak.

Peroxide will dry it up & help with quicker healing.
SALT bath is more effective - since salt is a natural healer

But lay off the baths & peroxide & allow it to scab after a day or 2
