The best cure which I use, I have a herpe(which I hadn't in a long time), is toothpaste.
The other thing, if it happens 4 times a year, then maybe you're allergic to some tissues, when you're blowing your nose.

Do not touch it specially when it is like a blister...you will spread the problem. It will break up, and will dry up after several days. Do not pick on the sore, scab....at night i would cover it up if you can. (like with a band aid) if you are alone.
Dab on the spot with Vaseline if it bothers you with something clean and then toss it out. Tissues, Cotton squares. You should not use anything else on it.
Try to keep yourself calm in your life. Stress is one of the main reasons why it returns. It is true it never goes away so that you never have this problem again....but when you break out again.....most of the time it takes just about a week to heal. After the nose, it could show up some place else on your body, so keep calm calm calm!!!
No kissing anyone or any contact with your face until it goes away and you see nothing of it anylonger.
So, again, staying calm in your life is the best so called cure for this type of problem.

Assuming by "a herpe" you mean what is commonly called a COLD SORE or FEVER BLISTER (small pus-filled sores around your mouth/nose area that burn, itch, etc)
A Cold sore is caused by a strain of the Herpes Virus. There is no cure for Herpes, so I regret to say you may continue to get the outbreaks from time to time throughout your life.
You should take note of what's going on in your life when you get the sores, so you can try to figure out what triggers an outbreak for you.
For example, you may be under great stress, may be fatigued/exhausted, may have a bad cold/flu, may have spent too long in the sun with no sun screen, or in the wind, or in the cold, etc.
Finding your triggers may help you avoid an outbreak or two as you stop/change the behavior that encourages the sores to emerge.
Cold sores often last an average of 7 - 14 days. But that's not a set rule. Yours may last longer or be gone quicker. Some people take/use certain medications they claim have helped heal the sore in as little as 2 days.
Hasn't happened to me yet, but then I haven't tried all the options out there!
There are quite a few medications available to ease, soothe and perhaps decrease the length of time the cold sore affects you. There are also a number of "home" remedies that many cold-sore sufferers swear by.
There are many instructions for the care of a cold sore, which you can discover by doing a search of the phrase "cold sore treat".
But one thing you MUST note is that the Sore is VERY contagious.
Wash your hands constantly. Try not to pick at the sore between cleanings / drug applications.
Don't share towels, toothbrushes, pillows/cases, etc with ANYONE during an outbreak.
Don't kiss anyone, either. And don't give oral sex at all. ( You could infect your partner with the Herpes Virus. Genital Herpes is a LOT less fun than Cold Sores....which are not fun at all as you know.)
Again, do a search for the phrase "Cold Sore"
Some medicines you will come across are:
Valtrex (prescription required);
Abreva (non-prescription, expensive) For me, does not relieve the pain or itching, and I can never seem to start treatment at the right time for it to work as promised. Either that or it just doesn't work for me at all!
Carmex;
Campho-Phenique;
Lysine +;
I am currently at the dried scab stage of a cold sore, and it's been a relatively tame outbreak thanks to ANBESOL, which is actually for Inner-Mouth/Canker sores.
My pharmacist said it worked better for him than anything else, so I tried it this time. (apply with a q-tip)
Anbesol helped dry out the sore FAST, but now I am using Campho-Phenique Scab formula for the dry scab.
Some folks use nail polish remover, some take Lysine supplements, some use cornstarch.
Just remember, some of these remedies and medications may not work for you.
And you could also go see your doctor and get some suggestions there.

There is NO cure for herpes.
The meds that they provide at the DOC are the best way to handle it.
