What steps have you taken to reduce contraction of a communicable disease?I think multivitamins and drinking plenty of water help reduce my chances of catching a cold.

Did you know that some sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs)--such as herpes, syphilis, hepatitis--can be spread by saliva? Think about that before sharing a drink or taking a toke from someone.

Avoiding people who have colds, not having unprotected sex, not drinking or smoking after anyone and washing your hands frequently all will reduce your chances of picking up any type of illness.

What steps have I taken? My steps are mandated by the health department and by hospital policy. They are too numerous to list.

Anything that boosts and supports the immune system along with general health will prevent or reduce colds. Exercise, a well balanced diet, plenty of sleep, good oral care, avoiding close contact with those who are obviously ill, frequent and correcty done hand washing. These are practices you didn't mention and are more effective than vitamins and water together.
