they look different under a microscope. Gonnorea can get in your eyes and blind you.

Chlamydia is more prevalent than gonorrhea. Both have similar symptoms like a discharge from the vagina or penis. Other sites of spread are the back of the throat and the rectum. Both can have burning with urination. Gonorrhea is a little more serious. In a female she can get a secondary infection of PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) that can lead to sterility. Guys can go too long without treatment and the bacterias can travel down in to their testicles and cause epidermis (swelling and pain), also it affects joints. For gonorrhea there is a strain that is resistant to drugs like Cipro. When your doctor said gonorrhea was kind of similar he meant in symptoms only, not type of bacteria. No chlamydia can not turn in to gonorrhea. One can inoculatetheir eye by going to the bath room or having sex, touching infected body fluid and then rub their eye and the bacterias just got spread. New borns can get them in their eyes and mouth spreading in to their lungs during birth. They come out looking healthy and then ten to fourteen days later they get symptoms of a cold and can't breath very well and can end up in the I.C.U. The drops put in a new born's eyes at birth do not kill chlamydia or gonorrhea.
