Yeast infection or trichomoniasis..?Recently I was taking some antibiotics for a UTI I had, and my aunty told me they cause yeast infections sometimes? Well, I thought I'd be safe but when I finished the 10 day course of them, everything went wrong. I start getting incredibly itchy inside and I had a lot of white discharge. Now, I know that sounds like a yeast infection but then lately on top of that I've had this weird yellow/greeny mucous like discharge with a funny smell. Mum made me drink cranberry juice which made the itching stop for a few days but it's slowly coming back but I don't have as much white discharge. Trust me, I'm a very hygienic person [I shower everyday, wear clean clothes everyday etc] but I just don't understand how this happened to me. Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease but it can be caught by using damp towels or wearing damp clothes [which I have a problem with] but I've been doing that for so long and it's never happened, just all of a sudden when I finished these antibiotics? I don't want to have to have a physical exam because I'm really honestly not comfortable with doctors looking down there and I'm likely to have a panic attack, so if any of you know what one this is PLEASE help. Because I know I can go buy Monistat or whatever for a yeast infection but for the other, I think you need a prescription. Thanks so much.

im 14 and i get a yeast infection 3 days after EVERY period..it sucks.
so i know how you feel.
also. yes anti biotics do give high risks of giving you a yeast infection.
i had BV and got exammed [btw its not that bad..its really quick like 1 minute long] & anyways i had BV and went on an anti biotic..by time i was off...the damn med gave me a yeast infection.
thats so normal.

about the green discharge, im not sure about that. Yeast is usually a kinda like white/greyish discharge and it "rolls up"
yeast infections sometimes do have a smell.
you really need an anti biotic to make the yeast go away.
talk to you mom some more about this and let her know that you may need to be seeen..wheter you like it or not

okay im only 16 but i know a lot about this.
this sounds like bacterial vaginosis.. and a yeast infection.
you can def. have both at the same time.
bv causes yellowish discharge with a fishy odor and yeast
cause lots of itch from time to time. i had both of these at the
same time and it sucks!
you can get yeast infection medicine of course but unfortunetly
you can only get the other one from a doctor.
and you'll have to go to the gyno eventually anyways.
so might as well do it now.
