Can a STD/STI give symptoms and not show positive yet on tests?

Can a STD/STI give symptoms and not show positive yet on tests?I was just wondering if my symptoms are from an std, then would that std then show on testing? I tested at 3 weeks with symptoms starting at 2 weeks. All tests came back negative. Researching my symptoms could also be prostatitis or just trama due to rough sex, but always worried.

Yes, of course you can start getting symptoms before the tests show positive results.

Sometimes testing doesn't show an accurate positive for 4-6 weeks. Longer in cases of H.I.V.

Thats why people blindly expose others to their S.T.D.'s- without even knowing they have anything.
