How common is it to contract an STD at least once?I am not sexually active. I just got tested and today found out I have chlamydia. I'm getting treated. I rarely have sex and I haven't been with anyone in over 8 months. Before that it was 5 years. And I was only with one person last year. For someone as celibate as I am, it's very disturbing. How many people contract an STD? And how common is chlamydia?
My goodness, this is the first time I've ever had an STD and I'm 28.

Yea its very common. A lot of my friends have had something at least once. I actually have a lot of girlfriends that have HPV unfortunately. Good thing you found out though and go it taken care of.
