Chlamydia trachomatis and Rickettsia are both unusual bacteria in that they are obligate intracellular parasites. They can only grow inside host cells. In addition they are also all Gram-negative bacteria and do not form true spores although some people consider the elementary body form of the Chlamydia to be analoguos to spores since this infective form is a non-replicating form. But it lacks the durability of true spores so it is not the same thing.
