Can dogs get sexually transmitted diseases?

Can dogs get sexually transmitted diseases?I know that they can get other diseases that people can like testicular cancer and uterine infections and such but can they get sexually transmitted diseases from each other?

I asked this last night but nobody gave me a clear answer and another person told me not to ask this because the people of Y!A are not vets....... -!-
I don't think this question can only be answered by my vet (who i will not call to ask this, he's very busy and this question isn't worth taking up his time.) I'm sure somebody else can tell me if dogs can get sexually transmitted diseases from other dogs.
Just to let you know, I'm not asking on how to prevent my dog from getting one. I just want to know if there are any. and what are they called.
I'm not looking to breed, i already know the amount of dogs that die in shelters everyday. I'll leave the breeding to the pros. :)

You can ask your vet's receptionist who will know.

Yes, dogs get STD's. They can get herpes, venereal tumours, and Brucellosis. Veneral tumours are sexually transmitted cancers.

That is one of the of the many tests you have done on dogs you are fixing to breed. So yes, it is very possible.

Yes they can. Brucellosis and transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) are two diseases that are a problem.
