Can a pet get sick from licking someone with labial herpes? or transmit to others it licks?I'm afraid of getting licked by a dog whose owner has labial herpes and who is constantly licking it's owner and everyone around it.

What? The owner has genital herpes and you are worried that the dog or someone else kissing the dog will get herpes? Does the dog lick it's owners genitals? Your question is really unclear. Herpes is sexually transmitted. How is the dog going to get it from the owner?

Labial herpes.. I'm guessing that would be Herpes simplex 2..

Do you realize that a cold sore is herpes simplex 1 and most everyody has some degree of the virus in thier system?
