Has anyone in the history of mankind gone mad because of atheism?

Has anyone in the history of mankind gone mad because of atheism?Some religious folk like to say Friedrich Nietzsche went insane, and then go quiet....there by implying it was because of his beliefs. eg 'God is dead'

But it is was because of syphilis in his spine and brain, a venereal disease, in the days before penicillin.

However, I wonder if anyone has gone insane because of atheism, I can't think of anyone.

I can list many insane atheists. But I cannot recall any going insane because there is no God.

Surely at-least 1 theist has commit suicide because life is pointless when he realised there was no God..

philosophies or beliefs cannot MAKE someone mad. Madness is usually due to trauma or disease neither atheisim nor theism can cause madness.

I can understand that someone with distorted nihilist views could be driven insane by it. I don't mean actual nihilism but the confused mess of unrelated beliefs that, for some reason, is referred to as nihilism by people who did not bother to listen in RS lessons.
