How do doctors determine if you have communicable diseases?

How do doctors determine if you have communicable diseases? We are adopting internationally and one of the requirements is to prove we have no communicable diseases.Does anyone know exactly how this is determined. My assumption is that blood has to be drawn, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?

simple - blood tests.
**Also a copy of your vaccination records to bring with you to the adoption agency. Proof of your immunity to certain communicable diseases that may not appear on a blood test.
-BEST OF LUCK
