How should I teach my daughter about STI's/STD's?

How should I teach my daughter about STI's/STD's?I tried to teach my daughter about sex and STI/STD's but last time i tried to teach her it was to graphic because I put make-up on my doodle to make it look like a raging infection. Now she is scarred for life what can I do to make her not scared of penises and sex. Please help!

talk to her like you are her friend. i know this might sound stupid but im 16 and my mom like when she tried to tell me about this stuff i didnt listen and got mad because she made it uncomfortable and was like telling me not to have sex. if she would of been like its your decision and then told me about that. it would of been different. be honest and open but dont say it like a command. it would of made a whole bunch of difference to me. hope i could help
