HIV / Sexually Transmitted Diseases?Hello,
I have been really anxious lately because I have been dating a guy (I'm also a guy) and I am concerned about STDs/HIV. We met drunk the first night and recklessly performed and received oral sex from him (there was no ejaculation). I've continued dating him for about a week now and although he has confirmed me that he's clean, he has never been tested. Last night we kissed and then back home I realized that because of the wind I have a little cut from chapped lips in my lower lip (very small). I panicked at the thought of contracting HIV and told him which got him very offended, but he still will do it. How much risk do you think I might have from the activities I told you? I can't stop going into internet sites and panicking at the thought of having HIV! HELP!
I have continued seeing this guy. I insisted yesterday on knowing his sexual history and he told me that he has had unprotected sex only once and it was both persons' first times, and that he didn't do anything with his ex boyfriend. He also said that he'll get tested with me this week although he is quite sure he has nothing. He is quite young (18) and I really doubt he has anything as well (he is not a stranger, he is a friend of my friends) and he is not slutty. Sometime my mind goes wild, I will not be completely calmed until I see the results though!

There's a 0.01% chance of contracting HIV from a partner so I wouldn't stress, the best way to ease your mind is either both get tested or go get tested yourself. Problem you have is HIV has an incubation period of at least 3 months, so getting tested so early would do no good. To completely ease your mind HE would have to get tested
It's incredibly unlikely you could catch HIV from a blow job giving or receiving, he could unload buckets worth of his muck in your mouth & it wouldn't matter. HIV dies outside of the body very quickly & if swallowed is killed by your digestion system.
SO, try not to worry, go to the Doctors & be a bit more careful next time.

Sweetie, any time one has unprotected sex of any kind, he risks being infected from STD's, including HIV. He does not have to ejaculate for you to contract the disease, as it is found in seminal fluid that is not necessarily considered "ejaculatory". The presence of HPV (human papilloma virus, or genital warts) very often cannot be seen and can be contracted through oral sex. However, you cannot get HIV from kissing. The virus is only found in seminal fluid, blood, and breast milk. Syphillis is a very serious STD that also shows no outward symptoms after the first chancre (sore) disappears shortly after being contracted. Chlamydia also can be contracted through oral sex, but one will experience a very sore throat within 7-10 days after infection. It is also possible to contract gonorrhea through fellatio, but the person on whom you are performing the act would usually have a discharge from the penis that you would notice.
What worries me is that you engaged in sex shortly after meeting this guy while you were drunk. I see many patients at the HIV clinic where I volunteer who contracted the disease after a one-night stand while inebriated. Please always use condoms when engaging in ANY sexual activity, and don't allow your lowered inhibitions while drinking to convince you that "one time won't hurt". I know that many men hate to wear condoms, but believe me when I tell you that you would rather do that than be forever regretful that you did not if you contract HIV. It is a terrible, crippling disease that affects you for the rest of your life. Even with the new medications, HIV takes an awful toll on every aspect of one's health.
It would probably be a good idea for you to be tested for STD's at a local clinic in your area. Many are funded by the government and the tests will be administered gratis with the utmost confidentiality.
Good luck and please be careful!
