Gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia are the three major STDs caused by bacteria.

Herpes and genital warts (HPV) are caused by viruses.

Syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia are all three caused by bacterium. Syphilis is not viral as mentioned above.

HIV (AIDS), HPV (Genital warts), HSV-1/HSV-2 (Herpes) are viral as well as some others.
