When did they change the name from VD to STD?

When they realized it was too hard for 9 year olds to say VD.

It has always been an STD but VD was the slang name for it and went by the wayside about the early to mid 80's. There are more diseases in the lineup than Gonorrea and Syph so, VD done cover all the details.

well since VD fits in the same category as..HIV,Aids,Gunerria,Cyphlis they figured axe the VD and call it a STD as well
