Can menstrual blood contain HIV virus or herpes?I just read a post about can someone swim with a period and she said that it wasn't unsanitary because the chlorine in the pool will kill bacteria. Not saying she has HIV but if there's someone with HIV or not can HIV or other diseases come out in the blood into the pool water. What about sexually transmitted diseases that antibiotics can't cure like herpes?

Yes, menstrual blood will containHIV if the person is infected with it... and may contain herpes virus if the person is infected and having an outbreak.
Neither of these viruses can survive in chlorinated pool water... especially HIV, which is *incredibly* fragile and wouldn't survive for even half a second.
It's perfectly safe to swim in the same pool as someone with *any* STD.
