I am confused because I tested positive for type 2 genital herpes on a IgG blood test. I have not had any symptoms and I have had just a few shady partners but they were short, one-time things and I didn't even ejaculate for all but one in their mouth.

Herpes is transmitted through skin to skin contact with the lesions. It can be transmitted even without an outbreak, but risk of transmission when there is no outbreak is very low. Herpes can be transmitted from mouth to genitals or vice versa during oral sex, as well as from mouth to mouth by kissing, and from genitals to genitals by skin contact. Ejaculation has nothing to do with transmission of herpes.

the IGG test can not tell you if your hsv is oral or genital, just that usually HSV2 tends to be below the waist but CAN be orally. what you could of done was they has hsv2 orally and gave you oral sex and gave you the virus down there.

If you received oral sex from a person with Type 1 oral herpes, then yes, it can turn into type 2 genital herpes if it's passed on to you. You do not need to ejaculate, just their mouth with a cold sore on your penis can pass the herpes virus to you during oral sex. Just look online and you will see that herpes 1 virus can result in herpes 2 virus from oral sex.

Type 1 and two are different strains of the virus. You can get cold sores down there from type 1, but it does not turn into type 2. And vice versa, genital herpes can move to your face, but it wouldn't be type 1, it would still be considered type 2.
