So its been a year since Ive had hsv2 and ok, Im over the initial shock and moving on in my life. I have a loving husband and a loving son. Anyhow, Im writing because I wanted to know if herpes causes PID (pelvic inflamatory diseise). When I got diagnosed for herpes (last march) I did get some valtrex and they tested me negative for HIV, gonorrea and chlamydia as well as other sexually transmitted infections etc.. I did have bacterial vaginosis and they gave me some antibiotics for that. As for PID they did not say I had that, but because Ive read online that herpes causes PID, Im a bit worried because they say it causes infertility. Not to mention we are trying to have another baby and I havent gotten pregnant. When I got diagnosed for HSV2, I did have some abdominal pain and discharge along with the outbreak, but when I went to the doctor they didnt diagnose me with PID, but herpes and bacterial vaginosis. Looking back Im just kinda worried. I will be seeing my doctor for my annual pap smear this friday, but thought I would ask. Thank you for your answers. :)

Did you have any symptoms of PID? I have read that gonorrea and chlamydia can cause it, but I have never read of herpes causing it. It seems that if the doctors didnt detect it and you havent had the symptoms then you likely didnt have it.
How long have you been trying to have another baby? Its normal to take up to 12 months, good luck with the pap smear this friday.
