How can I ask my spouse to get tested for STDs without offending them?OK, we've been TTC for 1.5 years. (3 if you count the time our birth control method was the "pull out" method inconsistently applied.) Our insurance does NOT cover fertility treatments or semen analysis. I thought it would be a good idea to both get tested for STDs, as that IS covered, and some of them can be cause fertility problems. How can I bring this up without sounding like I am implying infidelity?

just tell him that your worried about yourself and want him to come do it with you cause your nervous to do it alone

STDs can linger for a long time without symptoms, so it's definitely possible not to know you have them, even while they might be affecting your body.

Therefore, if your partner hasn't been tested since before he started dating you, and vice versa, then there does not need to be any implication of infidelity.

explain to him what you just did to us about how some STD's cause infertility and you want to cross every option off your list to make sure there is nothing wrong.

Tell him that you want to cover all the basis and tell him that you are doing as well so he doesnt feel like you are only looking at him. He might be more up for it if you told him exactly what you told us. I would understand that.
