How does one with herpes not pass the disease?

How does one with herpes not pass the disease?A close family friend confided in me a few years ago that she had herpes. Since then she's had a baby.

I don't want to be like . . . how. . . what- because I don't want her to be embarrassed.

So, I ask you: How is it possible for someone with herpes to have the unprotected sex required to conceive without passing the disease to their partner?

it is possiable. herpes is only really contagious when the blisters are there..u can still catch it if its not tho but less chance of getting it..

when you have any STD there is no such thing as safe sex......

more than likely her partner knows that she has it. maybe he has it too or he is so committed to her he decide he would rather be with her, then worry about the herpes. you can how ever pass the virus when you don't see or feel an actual break out. you can transfer it at any time, but more than likely when the virus is just starting to have a break out and you don't feel it yet , or when you are having an actual break out.
