First question: don't people realize that pills are actually usually more life threatening than condoms?
Second: They don't actually offer any sexual protection at all, and completely open up your immune system. Why not an abortion instead? It's SAFER!
Third: Some brands are known to cause CANCER. How is cancer better than having a baby?
Fourth: What is so bad about periods that you would rather have blood clots than a normal cycle?
I was being sarcastic with the "Safer" thing.
I would worry more about hamburgers, but even children understand that hamburgers are bad for you. Most women ignore the side effects of a pill.

1. ...something that you in your body usually has more side effect s and is therefore more dangerous than something you put on your body.
2. Um, according to this (http://www.medicalook.com/Birth_control/) ... and my gynecologist... birth control offers plenty of sexual protection... and you understand that abortion is relatively dangerous as well, right?
3. ...some brands are known to prevent cancer. I'm assuming that the ones that have caused cancer have been taken off the market.
4. All right, this one annoys me. The reason I use birth control is because I don't have a normal period. Before I was on birth control I had no idea when I was going to start bleeding and when I did start, it was a gush of blood. I bled for over two weeks and heavily every single day. Imagine cramps, pain, blood, and feeling like you're going to vomit if you even look at food for over two weeks. That's what's so bad about periods. Some of you are lucky enough to be as regular as a clock, while some of us don't get that advantage.

The serious risks you listed are very rare and can actually occur during childbirth.
The Pill does not protect against HIV or other STD, but use of condoms is not necessarily foolproof either.
Abortion is not safer! It results in death 100% of the time!
The Pill does not cause cancer. Taking oral contraceptives is safer today than in the early 60's and there are dozens of types to try if you have side effects from the one you are taking.
The periods you have while taking the pill are actually lighter and shorter for most women and seldom contain blood clots.

first off, the pill is supposed to be used as either a backup method (like if the condom breaks) or for responisible monogamus couples who dont want to use condoms everytime
second, pills are not more life threatening than condoms.. condoms break & are only about 98% effective, the pill on the other hand is 99.9% effective
third, im sure if a pill was known to cause cancer theyd take it off the market
and fourth, periods suck, they are messy, inconvenient, annoying, and painful.. AND not all birth control pills make u stop having ur period or get blood clots
Im currently on yaz & i have my period at the end of every month like normal.. except just that its only for about 3-4 days, no cramps & lighter.. cant get any better
P.S.
there are things worse than birth control pills: fast food, cigarettes, alcohol, wars.. how bout you go worry about those

This question is so full of crazy I don't even know where to start. For one thing, you are much, much more likely to die from complications of pregnancy than hormonal birth control.
Furthermore, hormonal birth control does not cause cancer. In fact, it is linked to an overall *lower* risk of cancer. Oral contraceptives have been proven to reduce rates of endometrial and ovarian cancer by 50% or more. This benefit increases with duration of use and persists for up to 20 years after oral contraceptives are stopped.
Hormonal birth control has no effect on the immune system.
It is true that condoms have less risk of serious side-effects, but they are also less effective at preventing pregnancy.
