Is it common for close friends of the opposite sex to be sexually active?I'm a guy who mostly has close friends with guys. I have a few friends that are girls but I'm not that close to them just basically acquaintances. However I know a lot of guys and girls who have a lot of close friendships with people of the opposite sex. Is it common for these kinds of friendships of the opposite sex to be sexually active? or does that seldom ever happen? Like basically when a guy is close friends with a girl, is it common for them to be sexually active? I've always wondered that.

The relationships are NOT common. However, if they do form sex is likely if it is outside their normal environments (for e.g. if they are outside their office or outside school where they normally meet, etc.)

Well, I am a male and I have a very close female friend who is emotionally attached to me. We both are sexually active and we did have sex many times. It's not common, but may happen in certain situations. Like, if either one of them start developing feelings, or something like that.

In my experience it's very rare, most close friendships with individuals of the opposite sex are similar to those of the same sex, and thus are platonic. Friendships that do have sexual elements don't tend to last very long as that one party generally wants more or less of a commitment than the other and thus the relationship falls apart.
