is it common to get a cold shortly after contracting an STD?i had some sex last night with a less than reputable person, i woke up a few hours later with a severe cough and sore throat. to be fair i had a little cold already but it got way worse. Just wondering if i this is a common occurence for someone who just got an std.

I think your cold got worse on its own. Its hard to get any type of symptoms in just a few hours, most germs have much longer incubation periods.

NO, you don't always get a cold after contracting an std. Stds also don't typically show symptoms with in hours of having sex unless your immune system is compromised. The cold could be totally unrelated. Also stds don't care who you are, you could be the nicest person on the planet and have an std.
