Questions on Pelvic Inflamatory Disease & chlamydia?

Questions on Pelvic Inflamatory Disease & chlamydia?1)I know that a woman can get PID without having contracted an STD, but I would like to know, statistically, how often this happens.
2) If you have been with the same partner for seven years and have had two children, is there any chance you could carry chlamydia from a previous relationship for that long without showing symptoms.
3) When was chlamydia officially recognized as being a sexually transmitted disease?

I should be in Florida
1) PID is usually caused by chlamydia or another STD
2) yes, a woman could go that long without symptoms, but it is highly unlikey as it often descends to the fallopian tubes and causes pain and sterility. If you have had two children, you must have contracted it afterwards, because like I have said it often leads to sterility if left untreated for a long time, esp as many years as you stated...wow
3) I don't know
oh I meant often ASCENDS to the fallopian tubes after a period of time

1) There are cases where PID occurs w/o chlamydia or gonnarhea but this website http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/women/reproductive/sti/213.html says doctors are not sure why that happens...

2) If you were the same person for 7 years and had children w/ him... than you wuld know if you had Chlamydia... because when you get pregnant the doctors test you for every STD because having an STD could greatly affect the baby... even if you had no symptoms the tests would have come back positive at the time you were pregnant... so if you have chlamydia now... then it must have been contracgted sometime after your 2nd childs birth.

3) the chlamydia bacteria was discovered in 1907... but there was not easy way to test for it until recently http://healthcenter.uoregon.edu/patientinfo/chlamydia.htm

4) GET tested for STDS... just because you have PID does not mean you have an STD... If you do have an STD talk to your husband... because the dctors would have tested you when prego... good luck!!
