sexually transmitted disease.?Im in this special health program, and im learning about sexually transmitted diseas and i want to know these possible questions. Is it more likely to get hiv, aids, herpes etc if your relitives have had it, or does it not matter? some person in my class asked me if you have oral sex and have like a rubber glove on and your parthner has had a blood test in atleast 2 months ago can you get a sexaully transmitted disease? she is new and i thought it was a strang question to ask. And also how old can someone be to be able to get any of these diseases, well whats the most common age?

You can get STDS passed down from your parents, but only some. Also: no, if your parents have had it, that does not make you more likely to get it.

The new girl's question IS weird. No, if you wear a condom ('rubber glove') you will not get an STD unless the condom breaks or slips. The semen or vaginal fluid has to come in contact with your bloodstream (through your mouth, genitals, or a cut) in order to infect you.

Any person of any age can get an STD. Most common age, I have no idea. College-age, probably, since that seems to be where the most unprotected sex is.
