What are the chances of someone using a condom and still getting a STD?

What are the chances of someone using a condom and still getting a STD?I want to be more educated on sex and the risks of having sex because no one has ever taught me about safe sex and the risks [I am 16]. Most of it seems like common sense. I have found most of what I need to know on line but I am just curious if using a condom to protect yourself from a STD is the same as using a condom to prevent getting pregnant. Is there still an equal chance that you can get a STD? What are the chances of someone using a condom and still getting a STD? Thanks!

There is always a possibility of getting an STD with a condom, but chances are very small.

it will be as effective as preventing STD as its preventing pregnancy.

just use them carefully and follow the lovely diagrams on the leaflet lol

Condoms will reduce your risk but as with pregnancy it is not a guarenteed prevention. There may still be every chance of getting an STD such as herpes.

There is always a risk of infection during intercourse, less though with a condom...
