Why antibiotics cannot be used to treat viral diseases?

Why antibiotics cannot be used to treat viral diseases? What is the meaning of Viral diseases anyway?
I saw this question on my reference book..So,I am wondering if anyone can lend a helping hand to me?

Well a virus is a completely different organism than bacteria. If you use an anti-biotic it is to fight off a bacterial infection. If the infection is viral, then the antibiotic will not kill it.

That is the simple answer- I don't have better or more scientific answer.

Antibiotics says it in the name, they are against Bacteria.

Simply put Bacteria and Viruses are two different types of organisms and cannot be killed with the same substance. There are medications to treat viruses like Aciclovir against Herpes, but the best way to combat viruses is to stop them before they actually infect with vaccinations.

I do care!
You first need to know the difference between a viral disease and a bacterial disease.

A viral disease is caused by a virus,

A bacterial disease is caused by bacteria.

Bacteria is killed my antibiotics.

Viral diseases are too small for them to be effected by antibiotics.
Plus antibiotics don't cure vial disease. Because antibiotics act on an actual organism to either kill it or stop it replicating. Viruses on the other hand use our own cells to cause illness

if u have a virase it binds to ur
RNA or DNA and u have it forever

Bacteria are completely different from Viral. Bacteria are Prokaryotic cells, whereas Viruses are DNA or RNA based.
Virii are capable of incorporating themselves into a person's DNA/RNA and use it as a means to reproduce. For example with HIV, the virus "hijacks" white cells and inserts its own DNA into it using as a way to reproduce itself. This action basically inactivates the White cell, rendering the white cell incapable of performing its job.
Bacteria are actual organisms with their own organelles. They are more saphrophytic, taking away nutrients from the host to feed itself leaving the host to starve.
