HeLa cells or Helacyton gartleri are arguably a new species that evolved from humans. This is a case of macro evolution from a mammal to a ... well, i call it a microbe since it is single celled. Others are Canine transmissible venereal tumor and Devil facial tumour disease.
Its arguably a new species since there are so many mutations and obviously it can't reproduce with a human
lets set aside the "there is no such thing as macro or micro evolution only evolution" debate for a moment
so, do creationists accept it ? I dont have high hopes though

No, Horizontal Gene Transfer is illegal because that would be gaining information.

I thought evolution only happened one step at a time? If that is the case, then why are there so many mutations? And aren't the 'evolutionary steps' supposed to be beneficial for that species? How is a disease beneficial?

Evolution? Don't make me laugh!

HeLa cells do not constitute a new species, they are a laboratory cell line, not an individual organism. They are a combination of viral and human genes, Curiously, the existing human genome contains about 8% viral genes some of which is still being expressed - these have been with us long enough to become fixed within our populations. But HeLa cells also have a nonstandard chromosome number, so they are no longer human cells.
Creationists will never accept that parts of their own bodies originated through viral descent, but being human does not mean that we are ALL human - we couldn't live without our bacterial symbionts - there are more non-human cells in our intestines than there are human cells in our entire body.
