How contagious are sexually transmitted diseases by skin contact?

How contagious are sexually transmitted diseases by skin contact? So, I've been living in my new apartment for a few weeks. I'm living with a good friend of mine's boyfriend. She introduced me to him and we seemed to get along. They just broke up and she confessed to me in private that he has genital warts of some sort. He's a pretty poorly kempt person. He looks like Edward Norton out of American History X actually, but that's besides the point. He's always scratching himself and wandering around the apartment touching everything. I'm afraid to use the kitchen after him. He loiters around the apartment in his boxers. I'm afraid to sit on the same couch! Can I get what he has from contact with all of this stuff? Should I confront him about it? I don't want to break my friend's trust or get him mad at her because I know! What do I do?!

His name is Ashton.

Ashton needs to stop scratching and go see his doctor there is treatment for this! And yes id say some thing like why the hell you scratch like a dog with fleas all the time you have a std this takes you off the hook with g/f and then he will have to tell you or lie to you.
and the answer to other part is you CAN NOT get this unless you have direct skin to skin contact with him. Also can contact with an area of skin sub clinical infection this is a virus
Id buy some Lysol and spray every thing just for peace of mind.

Ok, here is the deal. There is not a single infectious organism that can infect healthy, unbroken skin.

However, living with a slob can have all kinds of unfortunate consequences. For example, I had a roomate who was a pig and one time he sneezed all over me even though he knew he had the flu. I got it and nearly died. He also came down with hepatitis A but since I was allready vaccinated, he missed me with that one. I live by myself now. I hardly get sick at all, and I don't have to clean up other people's trash or get their diseases. It is much better.

well good thing is u can't get most stds from inanimate objects, most viruses don't live outside the body for long. u should let him know at least how u feel about his ways when he is at home.
