How long can it take for an STI or STD to produce symptoms or accurate test results?My Ex girl friend slept with someone she doesn't know and wants to get back with me and I don't know how long I should wait to see if she has a STI or STD. Some please answer.

it depends on where you go get tested! i know when you go to planned parent hood they can tell you within a week or so? or maybe go to a clinic that has result ready within 30 or so mins... you should look around online or call a couple of clinics!!!!!!!!

if she has a herpes symplex it can take years and some carry without ever showing symptoms..GET A NEW GIRLFRIEND!

HIV.. I think the most important of all is HIV. The window period for HIV testing is 3 months. She has to wait at least 13 weeks (3 months) after the LAST time she had a risky encounter to get tested and to get accurate and conclusive results.

AIDS can take months, syphillis may go unnoticed and will last years. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia usually don't take more than a few days.
