Is the viral or bacterial disease, Meningitis, transmitted sexually?I've seen in commercials that adolescents should ask a doctor for ways to prevent Meningitis...but i want to know ways it can spread and how can you prevent it, if there are ways to prevent it.

Meningitis is caused by bacteria or virus entering the spinal fluid, usually through the back of the throat. As you can imagine this is not a good thing, and can result in brain damage or death if not treated. It's transmited in all the usual way's, not an STD.
