Sexually Transmitted Infections?which STIs can be contracted through kissing? And what are their signs and symptoms?

If you mean "kissing a mouth, which has not been near any other part of a person's body", mononucleosis.

mouth herpes (coldsores)? i think thats about it. just dont kiss someone with a coldsore.

Cold sores can be passed through kissing but they are not considered to be an sti when you get they occur on the mouth. You an also get mono but again that isn't considered to be an sti. You're not likely to get chlamydia or syphilis from just kissing.

-Genital Warts (HPV)- Virus
oSymptoms: little clusters of warts, in and on genitals and throat

-Trichomoniasis- parasite
oSymptoms: transmitted – sex, bathing suits, wet towels, (F) burning during urination, red/swollen vaginal opening, foamy discharge (M) asymptomatic, discharge/itching/lesions

-Genital Herpes- virus
oSymptoms: skin-to-skin contact w/ lesions.. painful blisterlike lesions, itching/burning, symptoms prominent 2-10 days later, for 2-3 weeks, asymptomatic
oDamage: reaccuring outbreas, cervical cancer, can be transmitted to baby
oTreatment: no cure, meds- pain relievers, reducing outbreaks
-Pubic Lice- parasite
oSymptoms: insect found in pubic hair, feeds oh blood (burrows in skin) can also be found on eyebrows, eyelashes, armpits, etc
oDamage: inconvenience
oTreatment: over the counter cream (lice) Rx meds (larvae)
-HIV- virus
oAcquired Immuno- Deficiency Syndrome, Human Immunodeficiency Virus
oSymptoms: 1-2 mos after infection- brief illness similar to cold/flu, 7-10 years later- weight loss, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea, fatigue
oDamage: eventually develop AIDS, 1+ opportunistic infections, gradual debilitation, death
oTransmitted Through: breast milk, blood, semen, vaginal fluids
o**You don't die from AIDS, you die from the infections
-Prevention- all STIs
oThe only 100% effective way to prevent STIs is abstinance.
