Candidiasis is pretty much just a yeast infection. Symptoms are usually burning and itching sensation, thick, white cottage-cheese like discharge, pain and discomfort around or inside the vagina. There are lots of ways to treat a yeast infection. First, there are over the counter medications (like Monistat) that usually help clear up yeast infections completely IF used properly. The 5 or 7 day treatments usually work better than the 1-day IF it is completely finished. DON'T just use them until you feel better. There are also creams that can help bring some relief for your symptoms while you're clearing up the infection itself. Next, you can contact your doctor and ask for a prescription for Diflucan, a one time pill that helps cure yeast infections systemically. The doc will usually want to see you before prescribing this med though, so be prepared for an exam. There are also homeopathic remedies, such as a pill caused AZO Yeast, sold mostly at drugstores, like Walgreens. It is completely natural and helps relieve symptoms of yeast infection and if taken daily, helps maintain healthy balance of bacteria in the vagina. Lastly, alterations to your diet can also help relieve and ultimately keep yeast infections at bay. One solution that I found most effective is yogurt. Most yogurts contain active yogurt cultures like L. Acidolphilus, which help keep the normal bacteria in the vagina living in harmonious balance. If you're repulsed by the idea of consuming yogurt, Acidophilus is also sold in pill form(although I've never used it and can't confirm it's effectiveness, so ask your doc). Also certain things in our everyday diets(like sugar)help the Candida albicans bacteria thrive in our bodies. They actually feed on sugar, so cutting back on sugary foods and consuming lots of water can help.At the risk of sounding like a preachy health-nut, improving your diet greatly affects how your body works. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. Eating lots of green veggies and fruits, protein, and fiber and drinking water more than anything else will prove most helpful. The body has a way of naturally healing and cleansing itself if fed the right things.

candidiasis can also be oral and not just vaginal. When it is found in the mouth it is called Thrush. It is considered one of the oppurtunistic infections that define an AIDS diagnosis. It can travel deep into the esophagus and it makes it very hard to swallow and almost impossible to eat. It can also resemble Oral Hairy Leukaplakia which is also an OI that is generally found in people with supressed immune systems. People on chemotherapy, those that have lupus, or other immuno suppressing disease need to take heed to this disease and treat it accordingly. The most prescribed cure for Oral Candidiasis is a drug called Flucanazole. I am technically AIDS diagnosed and I have experienced this many, many times so please look into this with your general practitioner.
