The Abstinence program is it a lie?

The Abstinence program is it a lie?I mean the program is all about Sex ed, statistics, STD's, Science, birth control etc… all the crap about religious dogma is agenda driven. In a public school you cant even mention the god issue, and in Catholic schools (I think) and Christian schools they do say it is God's plan for people to wait and be with one person, but how is that wrong. I mean I know where sleeping around got me so why not say there is a beautiful plan for sex and marriage especially if it fits in with your own personal religion. And like I said in Public schools they cannot even bring up the God issue, just the facts. The problem with abstinence program is it is only done as assemblies or twice a year and not done all out.

Isn't it a Bold face lie to say the Abstinence program is all just a bunch of Religious Dogma?


What is wrong with giving them the facts as to why it is the best choice to wait as long as you can? Is it so wrong to encourage purity and Love?

There is a saying you know a society is coming apart when they start calling evil good and good evil, and we in America are playing this out right now left and right not only with trying to make it acceptable and normal to tell our 11 and 13 and 16 year olds that having sex with any and everyone is just dandy but on other fronts also.


It is up to the adults to cultivate a culture right?? or do we just sit around and let our mistakes and the emotions and hormones of adolescence dictate truth?
They do give them information – they get a wealth of information on sex ed to birth control


And government shouldn't be involved but the libs want them there so hey get your facts straight

The arguement is over who should teach the kids, and why should it be the government doing it at the cost of Billions when it doesn't do any good.

Because if we stop teens from having sex then where will all the abortion clinics get their patients and money from? We can't cause a collapse in the abortion industry. What will liberals have to get behind if they don't have abortion.

Natasha, you are telling me there is no difference between the pregnacy rates for teens who abstain from sex vs. those that have sex? Last time I checked you had to actually HAVE sex before you get pregnant.

Natasha, If though you seem to be against government teaching sex education you are also working under a premise that the government is doing it right. Abstinence taught right by the parents will work 1000s time better than teaching them to do it when they feel it is right. If you teach them to do it when they feel it is right then the first time they are out with the oposite sex and the hormones start to rage then they are going to do it. Abstinence certainly won't stop 100% but if taught correctly it will certainly demonstrate lower pregnancy rates than teaching something else. Using your agrument pregnancy rates should have remained steady for the last 1000 years.

When we've got kids saying "I don't know how I got pregnant!" or thinking that dabbing down there with Mountain Dew will prevent pregnancy or STDs, it might be time to reevaluate the usefulness of abstinence education.
