How can I know whether I am infected with a sexual disease virus?

How can I know whether I am infected with a sexual disease virus? How can I know whether I am infected with a virus, HIV or any other? Can I know it by normal blood test? If I am infected during sexual contact today, can I know it by testing today itself ?

Go to the doctor. Please. Testing is different. some take a day, others take weeks. Good Luck.

HIV/AIDS is determined through a blood test, though if you had unprotected sex with an HIV carrier in the last 14-17 days, and if you caught the virus, it wont show up on your blood test. It can take up to 3 weeks for the results to come back.
STI's and STD's are usually done through vaginal swabs, a pap smear, or if you're a guy, a swab from the inside of the penis (just a q-tip in the urethral meatus), or for some sti's, a urine test. Those can take about 2 weeks to come back. Sometimes they don't call unless something is wrong. Good luck!

Ah the wonderful world of STDs.

HIV blood tests check for antibodies (little proteins that help attack the virus in your body) in your blood. It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months for antibodies to show up in a blood test, with most people showing antibodies by 3 months. So an HIV test wouldn't show if you're infected (come out positive) if you got checked today. Although it would show if you were infected more than 3-6 months ago.

A normal blood test....hmmm...not sure what you mean by this. If you mean will you get tested for HIV without specifically asking, then the answer is no. You must specifically ask for an HIV test when you go to the doctor.

Other sexually transmitted viruses are a bit trickier. If you want to be checked for HPV or HSV (warts and herpes) then generally speaking you will have to ask. Genital Herpes is generally not tested unless you have an outbreak. There is a blood test but it costs money, and lots of doctors aren't aware of it (they'll tell you that its unable to distinguish between herpes on the lips and genital herpes, this is wrong, there is a test to distinguish the two, its just relatively new).

I didn't check to see if you're a male or a female, but these days most Pap smears also check for HPV.

Hmmm....lastly, you didn't mention bacterial infections (like chlamydia and gonorrohea) but those are important to get checked for too. That involves a swab and is generally useful right away.

Oh and if there's any itching, redness, bumps, weird discharge that's an indication you should get to the doctor right away.
Hope that helped
