Can dogs get sexually transmitted diseases?

Can dogs get sexually transmitted diseases?I know that they can get other diseases that people can like testicular cancer and uterine infections and such but can they get sexually transmitted diseases from each other?

I know this sounds dumb but i'm just curious. :|

That's why it's important to screen for them before breeding, or better yet, making sure they don't fornicate.

there is FIV- which is HIV in cats. so I would think there would be a dog equivalent to HIV,

yes, brucellosis is one.

BTW, brucellosis can also be transmitted to humans thru contact with infected bodily fluids.
