What symptoms partner?

I would go back to the doctor and demand an STI test. If he won't do it then i would go and find another doctor that will do it.If you have all of the symptoms, then that means that you probably have an STI. hope you find the help you need. good luck.

tell them that u are concered about your sexual health, u may have some (tell them if any) symptoms and want a test done for...... most doctors have done this before. some might want to look at whats going on down there before testing but if they don't see anything they will think there is no reason for testing tell them u want to be sure that there is nothing for u to worry about. if they still don't want to do it then go to another doctor.

I must say I am not thrilled with your doctor's attitude. I would be inclined to see someone else.
You can contract the genital herpes virus via oral sex (HSV type 1), so it may be that. Of the two strains of the genital herpes virus (HSV type I and HSV type II), HSV type 1 is easier to manage from both a physical and emotional perspective.
If you have symptoms present, I would go to the doctor and ask him to do a swab test. It is very difficult to diagnose the virus when there are no symptoms present unfortunately.
