HELP! What medical procedures do you take with someone who has Candida Albicans?About 8 months ago my bf was diagnosed with a yeast infection and was given an antibiotic to cure it but that made it worse. He's lost a lot of weight because of his diet and on the side he's been taking probiotics and all kinds of different things to cure his condition. Is this something that will NEVER GO AWAY? Can this be sexually transmitted too?? I read that it can be an std but Im not too sure? Im scared that I might be at risk but I need to help him.. What kinda doctor does he need to see? I need all the information I can get?! Please help!

Try a urologist. Yes, it can be sexually transmitted. So you may need to be treated, too.

It can be sexually transmitted if he has thrush, which is common with Candidiasis. This doesn't mean that you will catch systemic Candida; probably just a superficial infection. It's antibiotics that are the main cause of more serious infections.

I did an answer recently about the pitfalls of Naturopaths and the like and about how conventional doctors are just as bad in their own way. This has since been attacked by reportnicks (I think I can guess who) so all the info has disappeared.

At the end of the day, finding a decent doctor is by no means easy. Hopefully you will be able to find what you need for a cure in the stuff I link to. It comes down to the potassium sorbate, the sodium citrate and the diet.
