C. Autoimmune disease. Lupus patients can make antibodies against the nucleii of cells and the double stranded DNA, we can also make antibodies against the debris that occurs are a result of cell apoptosis (normal cell death). In addition most of us make anti Smith, and some make anit ro and anti la. Still others make lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin resultling in antiphospholipid antibody, or Hughes syndrome. And as if THAT'S not enough, we can make antibodies against any part of our bodies. I have systemic lupus and had pericarditis (inflammation of outer lining of heart), pleurisy (inflammation of lining of the lungs), pleural effusions (fluid collecting in lungs), bone marrow failure that caused pancytopenic anemia and early stage renal failure.
