What do you think of the CDC and FDA engineering STD's to "mostly affect" gay men in the USA?

What do you think of the CDC and FDA engineering STD's to "mostly affect" gay men in the USA?This is not a paranoid conspiracy theory - it's really happening.

The HPV virus is the most common STD in America. It is what you might call a "gateway disease" because it causes small abrasions and compromises the immune system to the degree that it allows other STD's (like HIV) more of an opportunity to take hold.

The CDC and FDA have approved a vaccine for girls age 9-28 to protect them from HPV for the rest of their lives. They have so far refused to approve any such vaccine for men.
Theoretically, heterosexual men will be protected from HPV by proxy since their partners (women) can take the vaccine.
This will eventually relegate the disease to only homosexual men because their partners have no vaccine available to them.

Isn't it time that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stopped pushing Sexually Transmitted Diseases into the gay community?
Rosalin and Merideth: There have been MANY treatments and vaccinations for STD's tested for men and found to be effective that the FDA has simply not approved.

So, "let's help women," has equated to, "let's destroy the gay men!"?

They'll get to men eventually. I'm sorry, but it sounds like a conspiracy theory to me.

Edit: And on that page, it says: "Studies are now being done to find out if the vaccine is also safe in men, and if it can protect them against genital warts and certain penile and anal cancers. The FDA will consider licensing the vaccine for boys and men if there is proof that it is safe and effective for them."

It has not been approved for men yet because it has not been tested for men (I would assume that has something to do with the minute hormonal differences between men and women). However, I doubt the "Division of Sexuality" will remain a distinct boundary what with enough men engaging in "down low" behavior.

But yes, I'm sure there's more of a political aspect to this than meets the eye.

Guardasil, the HPV vaccine, has been tested on men, but has not been found to work the same way as in women.

By saying the government is engineering STDs for gay men is erroneous. Even if there was a conspiracy to create a disease for gay men, HPV already exists, and has for a long time.

Yes, push for more research to be done as far as a vaccination for men, but as someone else said, just because they've helped women, doesn't mean they're out to get men.

It is a paranoid conspiracy theory, don't be ridiculous.

(1) The studies on men have been inconclusive.

(2) Gay men can find (gay) doctors who will give them the vaccine anyway.

(3) Real conspiracies get discovered because people, being people, can't keep a secret to themselves.

(4) Gay men don't need conspiracies to endanger their health. They are perfectly capable of making stupid decisions by themselves. Then they have the added "bonus" of being a tiny minority inside communities that often loath them. That combo was more than enough to wipe out a huge number of the gay men in my generation.
