There is no percentage with ANY STD, ever. It could only take one encounter for any STD to be transmitted. Some factors can make it easier for transmission, for example, if your immune system is weakened because of any other infection it coud make it easier for an STD to be transmitted.
Also, symptoms do not appear as soon as someone gets infected. Especially in women, it could take weeks before symptoms actually occur. Regardless, your friend needs to get tested and seek treatment immediately.

If he had unprotected sex with her and after she contacted the disease, then he has it to. Fortunately, he can get medication for it to clear it up. I thought I heard recently that the medication that they use to treat gonorrhea isn't effective in treating the disease anymore. I could be wrong about this. Hopefully this is not the case.
