The reason they are sending a nurse to your house is out of concern for you and your boyfriend. the thing about STDs is the male usually has no symptoms, only the female. The state is worried that this could be passed from one to another. Right now, you are with your boyfriend exclusively, however, if you should split and you begin seeing someone else, you put that person in jeopardy. It's not fair to another person. If you do have an STD and it goes untreated, it could be fatal to you and your boyfriend. They are only going to put you on the proper antibiotic to get rid of it. Remember, men don't show signs and that's why your bf feels no symptoms. They won't stop showing up because it is considered public risk factor. Yeast infections are very common in women and even though you were treated for it, the particular antibiotic you took for it, may not have touched the std. Please, get checked, it's for your own safety and your bf. I wish you good health
Edit, I don't care if it's been 2 yrs. You can live a long time with untreated STDs but the outcome will eventually be the same whetehr it's now or later. It can be fatal. It is not rediculous. How can you say you love someone and do this? It's not just you that the state is worried about. Think of others and not just yourself. Besides, if the state wants the test, then the state will pay for it. I have to say one more thing. if you do have an std and it goes untreated, you risk fouling up your ovaries and tubes to the point where you will never be able to get pregnant, I know you say you don't want kids, but there is still a chance you could get pregnant accidentally. Have you ever seen a baby born when the mother is infected with an std? No, I don't imagine you have, Consieder this, Baby is born blind, malformed, mentally handicapped, yeah, it's not just about you. You have to get off this idea that you refuse to be tested. I'm telling you, they won't let this go. They could even go as far as getting a warrent out demanding that you get treated because it is against the law for them not to report your situation. Please, think about it. It is important.

you should be going to your family doctor yearly for a pap test and check up and then follow through on any treatment recommended.

Once you have an STD it does not go away on it's own. A yeast infection is not an STD and the treatment you took for the yeast infection will not/did not cure the STD. The reason the state nurse is involved is because alot of STDs have to be reported to the state just like some other illnesses like whopping cough have to be reported to the state. I'm having a hard time figuring out why you and your boyfriend refuse to get tested and treated. You said it was a planned parenthood clinic, I know they offer help for low income clients. Please reconsider your stance on this. If nothing is wrong then no harm is done, and if something is wrong then you will get help for yourself and others.

"No! absolutely not i Refuse to believe i still have STDS after two years ago. thats ridiculously"
if youre too stupid to get tested or retested, and are seemingly willing to spread stds to others based on your post, then maybe you deserve to have one for your selfish irresponsible actions.
i am going to say one thing since you dont seem to get it: one test once does not cover you for life. i'll repeat that. one test once does not cover you for life. one test once does not cover you for life. one test once does not cover you for life.
a test is not a vaccine against future exposure to infection. you have to get tested, continue to get tested, and use protection throughtout the course of your sex life, especially when you switch partners. same goes for your current partner, who probably already has something since he seems too proud to admit he is human and therefore capable of acquiring disease.
i am not going to apologize for being a jerk and berating you. it is proud ignorance like this that is the main reason for the plagues of stds and other diseases that are infecting the populations across the globe.
by the way, it is criminal in alot of states in the us to knowingly spread stds to others. you can actually go to jail for it.
Orignal From: i have a Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) but refusing treatment. and a state nure came to my home....
