A quick web search on "STD transmitted by kissing" will tell you basically, no.
If really the *only* thing you're doing is mouth on mouth kissing (even with your tongue) the main disease to worry about is herpes.
To super oversimplify things, herpes has an oral form (herpes that affects your mouth) and a genital form (herpes that affects your male or female parts between your legs). You can spread herpes from your mouth to your partner's genitals (or your own if you're that flexible or you're licking your fingers); likewise herpes can spread from your partner's genitals to your mouth if your partner is infected and your mouth makes contact with his/her genitals.
Less likely to be transmitted by kissing but more worrisome if you get it is syphilis. Syphilis is treatable.
Visit the websites referenced below for more information on symptoms, transmission, and prevention/avoidance of STDs.
I am not a medical professional, but I do suggest that you visit a doctor if you think you have an STD.
To prevent the spread of STDs, including HIV/AIDS, get tested before you have sex with a new partner, and ask your potential partner to get tested, too. Only have sex if you both test negative.
Latex condoms should be used. STDs are transmitted via sexual fluids and blood. Avoid contact with sexual fluids, and consider any sore suspicious.

a cold sore = herpes.

The only thing would be a cold sore, and that is only if the person you are kissing has an active coldsore (that is, visible) so check their lips first!!!
Orignal From: is it possible to get (sexual transmitted disease) STD just by kissing?
