Can I be a firefighter if I have herpes simplex 1 or 2?Is there a medical restriction on becoming a firefighter or paramedic if I have HSV-1 or HSV-2?

nope. the only ailments they can NOT hire you for are ones that render you physically unable to perform tasks required for the job. they will not ask you to disclose detailed information about your health.
