STD and vaccine's for Expectant mothers?

STD and vaccine's for Expectant mothers? If the parents of an unborn child have sexually transmitted diseases, wont the child be born with them? I know a couple, where the expectant mother has HPV, (genital warts) and the father has Hepatitis C. As far as I know, now that they have transfused body fluids, the expectant mother now also has Hep. C. My question is will the baby be born with the diseases and is there a vaccine once he/she is born to cure it? Does the mother now also have Hep.? And will the baby have hep. and HPV for the rest of it's life?

The chances of the baby getting the HPV are not high. In fact if the mother has an STD, chances are the doctors will do a C-Section to prevent transfer of the STD to the baby.
STDs can be transmitted from a pregnant woman to the fetus, newborn, or infant before, during, or after birth. Some STDs (like gonorrhea, chlamydia, hepatitis B, and genital herpes) are transmitted from the mother to the infant as the infant passes through the birth canal. HIV infection can cross the placenta during pregnancy, infect the newborn during the birth process, and, unlike other STDs, infect an infant as a result of breast-feeding.

So, hints why they would do a C-Section. Also, she should NOT breastfeed....this link will help answer any other questions you or your friend may have.
