Not always. What kind of test did you have? If it was the vaginal swab, then most likely because the bacteria would still be in the vaginal canal. However, if they did a blood test to see if there was any antibodies in your blood, probably not. You can get tested again and the test should be more accurate after 48-72 hours.

Just to include on "Gonna Be a Nurse"s post:
The best testing out there are the Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT), such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), transcription mediated amplification (TMA), and the DNA strand displacement assay (SDA) for chlamydia detection.
Usually you would want to wait a total of 3-5 days before testing so the bacteria is prevalent in the testing. Also, the blood tests are only used to see if you ever HAD chlamydia or gonorrhea - they are NOT considered conclusive testing for present infections.
