If you are worried, get tested. Better to get it treated before any symptoms can appear.

Well, mine was there about 36 hours later. I used Abreva, that helped, but made an appt with my doc. Sure enough, I had herpes. I was irritated in my genital area as well. Only the blisters can be tested, so as soon as you see one or feel "the tingle" (once you feel it on your lips, you know). My doc said most people don't even know they have it. I wouldn't use the Abreva until you've seen the doc so the blister can be swabbed. Only way.... Also, if you've got in on your mouth, pretty good guess it's other places..... with or without blisters.

it would depend on the STD. if you're unsure, go to a doctor and get checked out. you can get info at places like a free clinic or planned parenthood. you could probably find stuff on line as well. it may not taste well, but putting a condom on it would help protect against the spread of STD's. good luck.

Not all have noticeable symptoms, many go undetected - some for years. Get tested if you were not using protection - full panel testing for all STDs. Better safe than sorry.
