The health-care reform legislation pending in the Senate includes $ 50 million for programs that states could use to try to reduce pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease among adolescents by teaching to them to delay when they start having sex.
Under the federal budget signed by President Obama, such programs would no longer have funds targeted for them.

Unwanted pregnancy is a lose lose situation. Planned children under a mother and father who are honest, hardworking and will love, nurture, and will take care of that child to death is a win win situation. So to answer your question,,no,,,,the government should never get involved in affairs, abortion and or non abortion. The law should be in place that abortion is murder and will serve time in jail if you kill your baby.

neither programs should get any federal funding. why cant people keep their own money and decide what they personally want to spend it on? wouldn't that be the most fair way?

Unwanted pregnancy won't be a problem with Obama Care. Abortions will be free. Go stand in line.

contraception is a part of the abortion mentality; we need to undo the damage that has been done to our society from its influence... why? because we are currently teaching irresponsibility; don't worry, the gov't will kill your baby if you play...
abstinence makes sense; self respect, respect for others, drastic reduction in stds, appreciate sex for what it is - and - people should live with the consequences of their choices - not at the expense of another human being...

No, abstinence programs have proven to be the LEAST effective sex education programs. The studies I have read in the last 2 years show that the kids pledge abstinence then go out and have sex at a much higher rate than those who had NO Sex Education at all.
